How many years have you been riding horses?

Hard to believe, but since 1990. I started in a Palomar class, and because I loved it so much, quickly decided that I needed to continue and buy my own horse.

Which school horse has taught you the most?

Jason and Hooker - I credit Jason with teaching me that horses appreciate being sweet-talked into relaxation, and Hooker with showing me that some horses are just masters at what they do! Above all, Bryan has blessed me with faithful and steady partnership: his understanding, forgiveness, and the zeal to have fun with his talents.

What do you love most about riding?

There's something about the scent of a horse, their gaze upon you, and the knowledge and feel of being a unit with them that is uniquely fulfilling. The thrill of riding high above the ground, the motion of their gaits, and the breeze when passing over even the smallest of jumps is unparalleled.

What would you like to accomplish in the next year?

Making sure that Bryan stays healthy and fit so that he and I can continue to enjoy our riding together. For riding skills, I want to improve on creating a good frame for both him and me so that our work is easier and more graceful.

What goal would you like to reach within the next five years?

Keeping age from knocking at my door so that I am fitter and confident to handle "more horse". I would like to continue my jumping progress and while not showing, being able to handle a course with the best of them!

As I started to write a few facts about Lynne's journey with Pathfinder Farm, it quickly became apparent that I was beginning to write a novel! I'm not sure how to put in a nut shell all that Lynne has done with us and for us over these many years. Let's just say that she is multifaceted, resourceful, brilliant, artistic, and fun to have around! Lynne has owned two other horses before she landed her current mount, the Thoroughbred gelding Bryan. Her first horse was a TB mare named Roz, then came a Hanoverian gelding named Duke. The priceless experience these horses gave Lynne prepared her for success with Bryan, the "Love of her Life". Several years ago, through a riding classmate, Lynne met the other love of her life. She married Joe in 2003 and has been commuting to the barn from Lemon Grove everyday since! Lynne and Joe bought nine acres in Rainbow in 2002 and are designing their dream home and Bryan's retirement villa. From the very beginning Lynne put her whole heart into her riding and a bigger heart you cannot find! Thanks Lynne for all you do!
